About the challenge

As a result of extensive external growth, Panalpina had six SAP® software applications in place. As each of these had its own access and authorization processes, it was impossible for Panalpina to determine the related risks. In order to establish the efficient, central risk evaluation that would provide the security and validation expected from a company’s internal controls, Panalpina sought to introduce a global authorization concept and was looking for an IT application to support it.
