Keneos drives a Bus Driver Self Service based on SAP Portal project

The "Bus” entity of the STIB/MIVB needed to deploy a new IT application for its 1500 drivers (spread over three depots) in order to allow them to manage key information about their job (mainly holiday and/or work and/or permutation requests), to get access to reports and to communicate with other colleagues via a specific messaging system.

About the challenge

Keneos launched the "Vision 2009” project, enabling all bus drivers to register requests on-line. All these requests are managed centrally (single administrative cell for all the depots), which means that all bus drivers are equally treated and that the applicable rules are uniformly respected.  Another objective was to provide the bus drivers with more insight into their actual personal data (access to back-end HR-related information such as holiday quotas and access to several reporting possibilities)

Deploying this project resulted in empowerment of the employee, process standardization, decrease of the administrative workload, accuracy of the information, efficiency and flexibility… These are the main benefits for the STIB/MIVB, allowing their 1500 bus drivers to manage essential personal data (such as holiday requests and substitutions) thanks to a fully SAP-based Technology.
